Since Nancy so liked the idea of the Pangea Day Anthems and I did too, I decided to search for all of the national anthems that are sung by people of other nationalities, such as the national anthem of India being sung by the Kenyan people, which is so poignant and beautiful to me.
This first video is the one where Japan sings for Turkey. It is visually spectacular and sounds really interesting too:
In this video, the Americans sing for Mexico. I had never heard the Mexican national anthem before, but I found that I instantly liked it, it think it is a beautiful composition.
In this video UK sings for Argentina:
The French sing the US national anthem here:
Australia sings for Lebanon in this video here:
And finally the video in which the Kenyans sing the Indian national anthem, which obviously is my favorite:
This is such a great idea and a wonderful, subtle way to increase international awareness of different cultures. The words and the tune remain the same but the accents of the people singing the anthems lend a uniqueness and a newness to something that is otherwise very familiar. Beautiful voices raised in unison spreading a beautiful message of universal love!
