My intention when writing the book was to share inside fashion and beauty secrets from my experiences as a plus size model, but the end result was actually much more meaningful in message:

I realized that my words could encourage women of all ages, shapes and sizes to feel beautiful without extreme dieting or painful cosmetic surgery.

I have a ten year old sister of my own, and I certainly see the celebrity icons she aspires to be more like as unrealistic figures of beauty. When talking with my younger sister and her friends, I have found that, even in fifth grade, they lack confidence and self-assurance. They have no idea where to begin to build their own positive self-images.

At all ages, it seems that many females struggle with their weight and body image at one time or another. From Hollywood’s perspective, a huge percentage of American girls and women are considered ‘plus size,’ which causes this feeling that unless they are skinny, they aren’t “good enough.”

Over 60% of American women are a size 14 or higher…
meaning over 50 million women are considered Plus Size!
